Welcome to the Sandbox
What is the Sandbox? The Sandbox is an area of the NetFx3.com site that demonstrates the use of Windows CardSpace and other identity selectors. Like most sites on the web today, this site provides the ability to login using a username and password. However, this site has been customized to also use Information Cards for authentication. On the Sandbox site you can:
- - Create a user account using either a username and password or a self-issued Information Card created in CardSpace or another identity selector such as the Bandit ISS
- - Link one or more Information Cards with your user account
- - Sign-in to the site using your username and password or an Information Card that you have linked with your account
Please note: We will occasionally deploy new versions of this site, as new versions of Windows CardSpace and related technologies become available. These updates will change the behavior and functionality of the site. We cannot guarantee that your user account or account-specific settings will be preserved during upgrades.
Windows CardSpace will display a warning indicating that this site "does not meet the Windows CardSpace requirements for a bank or major Internet business". Clearly this site is not a bank or a major Internet business so the warning is appropriate. It occurs because we are using an SSL certificate rather than an Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate. However, some people have asked if we can show the experience with an EV cert so we may implement this as a demonstration.
